Holidays in south-west England August 08 to 22, 2009
Thursday August 13
We finally meet our cows!
The really cuddly one is two-year-old Bracken, she was hand-raised because her mom didn't want her, so now she's too attached to people for her own good.
Primrose was supposed to be pregnant but wasn't, so they called the "Inseminator", and the next morning I helped bring all nine of them into the stable so Primrose could get her "shot". The procedure itself took all of 30 seconds, it takes three weeks to know if it worked or not.

A splendid day - that might have contributed ot me liking the Eden Project so much.
It was too hot for Gérald's liking in the Rainforest dome, and not exotic enough for my liking in the Mediterranean dome.

We both loved those two steampunk machines in the Core that got you to turn the handles for ages before a tiny bit of water would be poured out or a nut be cracked.

Mevagissey, a picturesque fishing village south of St Austell, and according to some sources the model for Trevissick in Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising Sequence books "Over Sea, Under Stone" and "Greenwitch". Therefore a must-see for me.

On the way home we took the coastal road to Bude and stopped at these gorgeous cliffs.
(That's as close to a sunset as we ever got during this holiday.)
