Hartland Point is up the coast from Bude towards the Barnstaple Bay.
The stranded ship was called the Johanna, and if memory serves me right, ran aground there in the 1980s.
We didn't go to any of the other coastal access points because it's all private land and they make you pay when you enter by car.
As if paying at each parking lot in town and at every single sight isn't enough... (A moot point with Gérald.)

Tintagel (I still don't know how to pronounce it properly in English - thanks for that, Kaamelott)
is said to be King Arthur's birthplace, so the whole village is full of places called "Merlin's Gifts" (and ice cream), King Arthur's Arms Inn,
"Camelot amusement arcades" and so on.
The two real sights are the old post office (14th century, no connection to King Arthur) and the ruins of the castle (apparently 12th and 13th centuries).
|
Next to the "King Arthur Hotel Camelot" we did not only have a great view of the ruins but also found a mixed herd of friendly cows.
|
Oh yes, the hotel and the castle ruins...
